Checkers false advertising prices on Shelves and staff are trained to stick to the price on the system

My wife and I visited Checkers Liquor at Bayside Mall and we went in with a budget of R1000. We made sure before we got to the till it all summed up to just below R1000. To our surprise when we go to the till the total was just over R1100. When we questioned the discrepancy the till operator Zizipho Chwetiso was dismissive and told my wife that was the price and we should pay. Fortunately my wife was adamant on the price. She rushed back to the shelves and took pictures of 3 wines she had been overcharged. The supervisor joined in who was unapologetic stepped in to fix the error which they had initially denied. This is a warning to all those visiting Checkers liquor to check the price before paying as they are advertising false prices on the shelves and overcharge at the till point. Thanks to my wife’s vigilance we saved ourselves a cool R120. The staff didn’t seem fazed, apologetic or concerned with the matter proving that they probably know already of this strategy. To make it worse it was just before 5pm and we were rushed to pay and ignore the matter as the system would automatically shut off. Checkers Shoprite please train your stuff and stop robbing people of their hard earned money. I have all receipts a d pics to prove this.
