CHECKERS ***EY-ROTTEN SAUSAGES IN BUTCHERY

Good day

I am head of advertising at a retail group.

I write as an extremely DISAPPOINTED customer from the new ***ey park branch.

Yesterday was my 34th Birthday.I have visited the ***ey branch with my husband to purchase braai meat,sausages,chicken and goods at around 4pm.

We have purchased goods for around R1600 with the intention of having an excellent celebration With a delicious braai,i have catered for around 20 people.We have chosen your butchery despite being Hindus which we assumed that your meat will be "fresh" and of excellent quality as the new ***ey branch seems of a high end market.

My dad has just been discharged from hospital which he had suffered a thrombosis stroke.He is on a Health conscious diet in which only "Freshly made" homemade food is given to him.

My husband had spoken to the guy in your butchery who has served us.We requested a spicy sausage and a very mild sausage for my kids,He had recommended the stanger mutton for our 4 kids who cannot eat hot food and the punjab sausages for adults.We have taken a kg of both.

While braaing,we tasted the stanger mutton-It was EXTREMELY HOT AND NOT SUITABLE for kids.The tray consisted of around 12 sausages.

When we opened the punjab sausages.IT WAS COMPLETELY SPOILT WITH A ROTTEN SMELL.We braaid it with the assumption that it was a spice,but when we tasted it,IT WAS TERRIBLE,it was almost ROTTEN and A TERRIBLE SMELL.My dad could have died of listeria if he ate it.We could have gotten infected with food poisoning!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite not having the required amount of sausages for my birthday,Your butchery should have caused a death to my dad/a serious illness to us.

Please be advised-I don't need a refund as I earn VERY well and I will not return the sausages as it's in our garbage.

On your side-Please invesigate what transpired,address it with your staff,and check which/why backdated stock was sold to me.

On my side-I will be reporting this to consumer-watch shortly to visit your store to take action. I will also report my dads illness and what effects it could have caused if he had consumed your sausages.I will also report this to the media to ensure that other customers are aware.
