CHECKERS CRADLESTONE MALL

Today I had to buy a few things at Checkers and at the same time, I wanted to purchase water at the company downstairs near the parking area, that i have supported in the 4 years 2 months that i have stayed in Krugersdorp. As it was 12 bottles that needed refilling, I took a Checkers trolley that was left in the parking area and proceeded to leave my bottles to be filled while I quickly went to do my shopping. This is a normal custom for me, which ever chain stores trolley is there that is the one I grab. Just like a lot of customers. To my horror, the lady who mans the water store, requested that i do not bring the trolley into the store, as THE AREA MANAGER OF THE WEST RAND, visited her, and told her that she must instruct her customers that NO CHECKERS trolley may be left outside OR ENTER her store. Checkers does sell refillable water at a lesser price, but it is my choice for health and hygiene reasons to purchase from the opposition as there only ONE person who does the refilling, not as Checkers has in place, where whomever, with what ever they have touched with their hands has access. What gives this gentleman (I did ask whether the lady was given a name) the right to tell another business who/what is allowed to enter their place of business, and that they must carry out his instructions. Is he scared Checkers will lose a few measly rand to an opposition, or 8s he trying to "make a name" for himself with head office. I have always supported Checkers Cradlestone, but it seems like I will have to m9ve to the opposition. Three stars, is because of the friendly staff on the floor, security and cashiers. Management seem invisible you never see them around.
