Checkers Complaint

On Tuesday 14 Jan 2020 it was my son's 6th birthday and part of the celebrations we bought him a transformer truck (as that is what he chose and wanted) at Checkers Hyper Eden Meander in George. Whilst I was still in the shop, he and his father went outside as he could not wait to open it until we are back home in Mossel Bay (I guess that is normal for a 6 year old). Of what was being an unforgettable outing for his birthday turned out to be a nasty shopping experience for us as his father found 2 dead smelly, stiff mice in the box of the toy. Needless to say, it was a great shock for us and a very nasty experience to experience at such an upmarket and big store of Checkers. I only realised at home, we should have gone back to the shop to report it, but I had such a big shock, I did not think straight at the time. That was the only box left with that specific truck and we did not want to disappoint our son to say we can not take it anymore, anyway. Luckily my friend thought of taking pictures of the box with the 2 mice in it.

As a regular Checkers consumer I just want to express my total unhappiness about this as I really did not expect this from Checkers as I've been a client for years and prefer checkers above all other shops to do my monthly/daily shopping.

I hope Checkers will contact and follow this up with me ASAP and some sort of agreement will be met.
