can i exchange

My 3year old got a toy for her birthday from a friend. Its got the barcode tag on. She already has the exact same doll. It was bought at checkers parklands but i dont have a slip as it was a gift. Can i go exchange it for a different doll? Please let me know on my email [Email Removed] the doll was R199. She really does not need two of it. The gift one still has the tag. I tried getting a email address but failed so i am asking here.
