Deliberately misleading advertising by Checkers.

Brochure advertised "offers valid until Sunday 08 August 2021"

On page 5 a banner stated "BUY ANY 2 GET A 3rd FREE WITH CARD" Picture with banner "SAVE R110".

The below textstated:

"Buy 2x 1l B-Well Extra Virgin Olive Oil and GET the 3rd one FREE!"

There was no item price on the ad.

Applying primary school level arithmetic which Checkers does not believe the customers possess, implies that if you get the 3rd one free and thus save R110, then, the price of the item is R110. and, thus the price for the two should have been R220.

A visit to Checkers Sunninghill on Sunday 1 August 2021 at about 15:00 revealed a price per item of R144.99 and an attempt to purchase the so called Special or Promo resulted in that I was going to be charged 3 x R144.99 = R449.97 less R110 = R339.97.

Now, using Checkers arithmetic, if I was being charged for two and getting the third free, I would, in fact be charged R169.99 each for the "Non-Free" , a considerable saving indeed, but not for the customer.

To add insult to injury I went to Checkers Hyper at Fourways Mall on Monday, 2 August 2021. The Promo was still on the brochure, but not on the shelf.

I tried to console myself and avail myself of the Coffee and Breakfast Roll offer prominently displayed on a huge poster at the Coffee Bar.

It pictured a huge "breakfast roll" appearing to have two eggs and 250ml of Americano Coffee.

Because I had to urgently have something to eat and have some sugar in my coffee to avoid an emergency I did not make a fuss or complain when the "breakfast roll" shrunk considerably from the poster picture one, had only one egg and while I did not actually measure the quantity of coffee served, by no stretch of the imagination it could have possibly been more than 150 ml instead of the 250 ml promised on the Promo Poster.

To say that I was greatly disappointed would be an understatement.

In other words, Checkers has again and againblatantly **** to me and all other prospective customers.
