Brand New Fridge stopped working yet no refund or repairs offered

I purchased a brand new fridge from Checkers House and Home (Pretoria, Centurion) in January this year, for the amount of R2800, with a 2 year warranty. I then relocated back to Durban and have been here for the last 7 months. The fridge stopped working now and when I went to Shallcross House and Home branch only to be told theres nothing that can be done as it was purchased in Centurion Pretoria. This is ridiculous, because I don't have to be living in the same City as where I purchased the item in order for the guarantee to be valid. I want help immediately, where do I store and keep my food????
