Beware of old smokehouse products from checkers

I had a bad experience twice in one week with the Old Smokehouse Pork products from Checkers Hyper. Over the weekend I made pork steaks, when I opened the product I immediately got a bad smell from the steaks. I didn’t really bother about it as I thought this can happen. Today I opened a rack of pork ribs of the same brand from Checkers which I had bought on Sunday. I defrosted it and when I cut the seal open, I got the same bad smell. I thought I was imagining it and put them in the oven. By now the whole kitchen had this smell. When I took them out just to taste as I was paranoid, it tasted awful and left a bad taste in my mouth. I called the Checkers where I had bought it from and this was the second time this happened and I was concerned that they need to remove these products from their shelves. I spoke to a lady by the name on Nonkhululeko who was very helpful. She heard me out and asked if I could bring in the product. I told her it had a terrible smell and I had thrown it out, how could I keep it in the house? She then advised me to stay on the line as she was transferring me to a manager. I held for over 10 minutes before cutting the call. So I do not know how to resolve this matter now. Please beware of these product and make sure you smell your products before purchase. With all the sicknesses going around, you can never be too careful.
