Bad service surpasses great advertising

<p>This pm at Checkers Kolonnade, there were only approx 7 tills available. And a lot of customers were paying for their monthly shopping. I only had 9 items and saw that the tills at the sigarette kiosk were vacant. I therefore proceeded and asked a lady at one of the tills was sitting, doodling on a piece of paper. She wasn't happy to assist me and told me I must go back and wait in the queues like everybody else. I responded by pointing out that as she had no other customers to serve, she might as well help me! She plonked two shopping bags on the desk and didn't look at me until the transaction was completed. No wonder retailers like Pick 'n Pay are installing self-help tills. Employees are striking everywhere about all kinds of reasons. Shouldn't everybody be grateful for their jobs ?</p>
