Bad Service

On the 16th November 2019 we (Me & my wife) went to checkers hyper mall of the north for groceries. The grocery made a total of R554. 69 my wife mistakenly gave cashier 4 x R200 notes thinking that grocery cost was R800. Cashier Dimakatso phaleng counted the cash and gave my wife R45. 40 change whereas we paid R200 extra. On our way to the lift to go upstairs at food court we realized that we over paid the cashier and my wife went back to ask for refund. My wife was told that they had to count all the money in the till before they could refund her, cash controller was called and it was found that indeed we over paid with R200. My challenge is the cashier counted the money before giving change and definitely she saw extra R200 so what would have happened to extra R200 if we didn't complain or noticed the over payment?
