BAD HYGIENE WITH MEAT & POULTRY

Today I went into Checkers to buy one of their 16 chicken braai packs since I thought it is a great deal. And scouring through the packs of chicken I got a pack that seemed seal properly and in a good condition. Unfortunately when I got back home to pack it away in smaller packets in the freezer. I noticed that there are still feathers on the pieces of chicken, nails on the wings, a piece of spine still attached to the thigh piece and chicken bladders still attached to the thighs as well. I honestly feel that this is also just bad service from the staff. This hadn't been my only run in with hygiene. Last week I came into checkers and found 5 brommers (big fat flies) littered over the meat. Some were dead and others still crawled across the meat. I called the manager and showed him the state of it and left afterwards. I feel that this store has been lacking in hygiene with working with meat and poultry.
