Today I went to Checkers at KwaDukuza Mall and I was attended by teller Zama Dlamini. I bought a box of bananas and requested a cashback of R400. She then said she has only a R100, at which I then asked to which till I should go to for help. She said she doesn't know with an attitude. I told her that was not the way to speak to me as I expected her to ask neighbouring tills or call for supervisor. She then responded by asking if I can't see that she rang the bell for help and I said no I can't hear it. A customer that was following me in line eventually offered to pay in cash so as I could finally get my cash back after noticing and hearing the hostility of the teller. Teller was absolutely rude and I'm sure she doesn't even know how spell customer service. These are the type of people that give Checkers and Shoprite a bad reputation. People who don't appreciate jobs that they have been given. Who somehow thinks customers are nothing. I'm utterly disgusted by her attitude. Its not her money I was requesting, its a service that the store offers. I do not know why she expected me grovel and beg her.
