A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE I.E. BUYER GOES ELSEWHERE

Some 3 weeks ago I visited this store with a view to purchasing 4 Arthur's Bar & Home Wine Cooler Bags which friends had bought there at R39,99 each. Neither the packer nor supervisor could help me find these items on the shelves so I asked the manager to assist me. He told me they were out of stock, wrote my details in a big black book and promised to call me when stock came in.

Fast-forward to last week: a friend finds the very item that is purportedly out of stock on the shelves..

My issue? Why didn't the store manager keep his promise to contact me? After all, I was a keen buyer who then went elsewhere to get what I was looking for.

Toss your big black book, Mr Store Manager, because it serves no purpose if you're not going to follow up on your commitment.
