8 litres of milk expiring on day of delivery

Yesterday we ordered groceries from Checkers through Sixty60. It was 11 October and they delivered 8 litres of milk with an expiry date of 11 October.

Is it their business strategy to get rid of expiring stock, or are they just stupid?
