On the 3rd of March 2026, I went to Checkers in Cavendish Glen centre. This Checkers constantly has issues, whether it is rude staff or being short on change. A week ago today I went to checkers at around 12:45, I had minimum time to waste because my lunch nearly ended. On the day I went to buy some basic necessities, the till I got to rang everything up and gave me the price. After making payment, the cashier told me that I would need to wait for someone to fetch my allocated change as the till did not have enough. The fact alone that the till did not have change was already alarming but what happened next shocked me to my core. The cashier returned with change, only to continue assisting someone that got there after me, she gave the person the change that she just went to fetch and turned around telling me that I will need to take all my change in 10c. Despite my change being R3.10, taking everything in 10c is ridiculous. It was a waste of my time and my patience. I ended up leaving the shop without my change, I then sent the manager a WhatsApp with my receipt attached, hoping that he will resolve the issue. A week later and I haven't gotten any feedback nor did I get the feeling that they took my complaint to heart. R3 might not be much, but at the end of the day they could be taking unnecessary funds from someone who earns minimal wage or from someone who could've profited from the extra money. If this is a daily occurrence, how much profit are they actually making
