Checkers Cascades

First come, last served. The tale of Checkers staff attitudes.

Some Checkers staff tend to ignore customers that are white, while serving black customers before white people that have been waiting longest. When this is pointed out, the complainant is ignored. Today, I had been waiting at the pie counter to purchase the last Pepper Steak pie on the shelf at the Checkers Cascades branch, when a black customer who had arrived at the counter after me, was served first, taking the last available pie. I pointed out to the staff member that I had been there first, but this made no difference. There have been other instances, not only at Checkers stores but also at PnP and Spar stores, where there have been a number of workers behind the counter, who have failed to attend to me, until I make a fuss. There is obviously a dire need for daily staff training, which appears to be neglected. Note that I do not expect to be served before a black person if they arrived before me. It should be first come, first served and not last come first served as appears to be the case.
