CHD Projects (a company developing houses in South Africa)developed a house which costed me R607k. Throughout the process the company's representative communicated with me. In the first week of December 2015 the house was handed to me. Within 2 weeks after I took occupation, things started falling apart: kitchen taps fell apart, bathroom mixers started leaking, when it rained gutters were leaking, ceiling door trap was being blocked by water pipes from the geyser, most appalling for me was the standard of workmanship on the electrical work - wires were exposed, geyser isolater strapped on a plank with a plastic strap, no stop valve on the outlet part of pipes from the geyser. I have paid with my money to fix some of these. But todate the gutters are still leaking, the roof is leaking, bathroom mixers (taps) are still not functioning, the outlet from the geyser still has no valves. I have to use a bath dish to bath. I have reported this to the building company but they are refusing to come and fix this. The NHBRC inspector has seen this himself but still the building company does not want to come and fix the problems.
