Chase tracking query

I had an account with Chas tracker the .Each and every month i will do a payment but I will receive a call that I did not make any payment.Then I will send them the proof of payment. I requested them to close the account in 2015.To my suprise i receive a call in 2018 that they handed me to MBD attorney's and I was told that I owe them R1600 .I am now a pensioner I won't be able to pay that money because I requested them to close it . This goes way from 2015. Can we you please assist me .
