I signed up on 10 Dec 2019 with Chase Tracking and last week Friday they were suppose to come install the tracker when I was off and won't be able to go to their fitment centre.the lady told me someone will call me to confirm the time and I'm still waiting for them.on 18dec I called them to cancel my contract with them since I have a 7 day "cooling off" period with no additional costs to me even if the tracker had not yet been installed.i contacted the call centre and an agent so so freaking rude and told me unfortunately the tracker has been ordered and I cannot cancelled.once I state my point she told me to pay a R300 cancellation fee and I said nope that's not what had been told to me.when I requested to speak to a manager because her attitude stinks I was put on hold then the call got cut.then I called back a second time and after explaining again my story all of a sudden there was a problem with the line and the call got cut conveniently.i then send an email requesting my cancellation and a copy of the transcript between myself ,the call centre agent and the verification manager who both confirm the same .no cancellation fee if I cancel before I fit the tracker and in the cooling off period there is no additional costs.then I received an email back they will send me a copy of the transcript and will investigate.also the email stating there will be no charges should they have misled me in any way and I said that was not was both agents said to me .all I want is to cancel and not continue having a relationship with such a company .I don't want long stories from them just to cancel the freaking contract.is there an ombudsman where I can go to .? according to the Consumer Act I am allowed to change my mind and I am in my right and in the "cooling off period "to not do business with them.
