Poor service

My wife and relocated to Witbank end of February, we looked for a property where we can rent for 6 months while we are looking for a house. An agent from Chas Everitt Witbank assisted us, and advised that we sign a 12months contract. She gave us a property where the tenants just moved out the same day we occupied the place. It was filthy, unpainted, lots of roaches and things were falling apart. She did the move in inspection and promised to repair everything. Two months later things were still the same, 5months later we already got our own house and moved out. We had to pay a fine for moving out early as per the contract. When they had to pay out our deposit which was R8188, they only paid out R2268.07, claiming that the rest went to the damages "which were in the move in inspection", and again charged me the penalty for moving out early. Had the argument with the agent, and she later paid us R700. I really feel like we were really ****med. My spouse and I moved to Witbank at the end of February, and as we searched for a house, we tried to find a place to rent for six months. We received assistance from a Chas Everitt Witbank realtor who showed us a rental home whose tenants had recently moved out on the day we took over. It had a lot of roaches, was unpainted, dirty, and things were falling apart. She promised to fix everything and completed the move-in inspection. Things remained the same after two months, and after five months, we had moved out and acquired our own home. As per the terms of the contract, we had to pay a fine for leaving early. They claimed that the remaining amount went toward damages "which were in the move in inspection" and only paid us R2268.07 of our R8188 deposit when they were forced to give it back. They then charged me again for leaving early. After our disagreement with the agent, she gave us R700. I genuinely believe that we were de*****ed.
