Dispute for Rental Deposit

Rented a property through Chas Everitt - Western Seaboard Property & Management for a year in Milnerton. On termination of the contract they withheld my deposit based on a 'quote' for damages that the landlord submitted to them, not verifying or supplying me with a receipt for the so called damages. On inspection of the so called damages after the fact, it was confirmed by the new landlord that the money was never spent to 'repair' the so called damages. The rental housing act stipulates that a 'receipt' should be presented on request, which they summarily ignored and just paid the deposit over to the landlord. The Rental Tribunal has instructed the landlord to pay back the deposit with interest, 12 months after the rental agreement terminated. This situation has resulted in me incurring expenses out of pocket to chase a landlord for my money as Chas Everitt were not prepared to follow due process. Absolute shocking service and attitude from them!! Will never recommend anyone using them for a rental or a purchase for that matter.
