<p>we had the pleasure of renting from the infamous Goodwin Brothers (Andrew who currently works for Chas Everitt in Sandton and Dean who works in international finance for Nedbank.)Andrew did the rental in the name of Remax Properties for whom he worked at the time. After three years he sold the unit to his brother Dean. Andrew who is the state agent in the partnership neglected to inform his brother that if a snag list is not done by the owner and the tenant together both moving in and out then it is deemed that there is no damage and a full deposit is returned within 7 days - this is according to the lease drawn up by Andrew. The deposit should be placed in an interest bearing trust account in the name of the tenant - no such account exists. Dean claims that he has no contract with us. This implies that we lived there as a result of his good nature and means any and all payments made to him should be returned. Chas Everitt despite having the email trail claim the charge is "Spurious" and refuse to assist despite an offer to do so. Nedbank is currently doing an investigation. Dean claims he has sent us a spreadsheet of calculations (not legal in terms of the lease as he never did the snag list) He also claims he is "busy waiting" for quotes. One of the things he wants to charge us for is a bypass switch on the geyser installed by the plumber of his choice. He left us with no hot water for a week. Andrew wants R5700 for water and electricity despite a query being logged when the electricity box burnt down and the six units involved had sudden spikes in their bills. Dean was supposed to have the matter investigated and never bothered - no investigation - no payment. The worst is that Andrew is hiding behind Berry Everitt and Dean is throwing stones from behind Nedbank. Andrew promised payment on the 9th of June. We moved out on the 3rd of April. The deposit was due seven days later. Nothing. Chas Everitt have threatened us with legal action if we approach the Esate Agents Board which we have. We have also laid ******** charges for ***** and theft and requested listing of both brothers on ICT. Unfortunately it does not put the money back in our pockets. Berry Everitt has now blocked email from us. Despie all of the evidence he refuses to believe his agent is a bad person.</p>
