Unprofessional, financial hazard.

I was penalized thousands of rands for a VAT return that C&B never sent me. When I enquired, they responded that the accountant who was supposed to send it was in the hospital and still invoiced me for processing the return. Only after a back-and-forth did they offer to appeal the penalty (which was unsuccessful) and credit me for the invoice for processing the return. Throwing their sick employee under the bus like that instead of taking responsibility and trying to make it right, was astoundingly unprofessional.

After that, I was penalized again for a different set of returns that C&B neglected to submit to SARS. Their response to this was "It was an oversight." I am out thousands of rands due to their negligence.

I asked the accountant in charge of deceases estates a simple question regarding my inheritance. He responded by having his PA schedule a phone call with me in which he told me he had to talk to me about this in person, in July. I never heard from him again; every correspondence I've sent him has been ignored.

I regret giving them so much business for so many years. I became accustomed to their lack of professionalism and having to send multiple follow-up emails for any query I had. But now their negligence it has cost me a significant amount of money and they have no interest in making things right and keeping me as a client.
