Dismissed Without Explanation

In looking for a whole new shoe style, I found Charming Shoes SA. I was really excited for the Zoe shoe, I could have bought two but I contained myself to one. My shoes arrived and I found them defective in some ways which was explained to the company liaison. I was asked to send them back for them to assess in relation to my claims. I refused to send them back at my own expense citing relevant consumer laws which offer protections for customers. After some time my purchase amount was refunded to me. The shoes are beautiful and I would love to give top rating but I found it strange that I was just refunded with no real explanation on what they found, or an option to try another pair perhaps. It's almost as if my satisfaction as a client just wasn't worth the effort. Charming Shoes SA should note that hand made shoes (any product for that matter) can vary in quality. Any decent business persons should know the hallmark of business excellence is in how they manage the more unsavory aspects of customer service. Up until the point of returning the shoes, I had such high hopes. In the end, the service just proved dismissive of my concerns and potential as a future client.
