Charly's Bakery Waste Of Time

Decided to go to Cape Town for a holiday in November since it was my birthday. Had a list of things to do and visiting charly's was one of them after watching them on DSTV while growing up. Got there and rushed in to buy the cakes and cupcakes that looks absolutely delicious on TV but when I got in I was extremely disappointed. The baked goods had flies sitting on them and nobody was doing anything about it. When I saw that, immediately I was put off. I looked around on the other side and there were flies also sitting on the food. This is absolutely unhygienic. The 2nd issue we had was, as we were leaving, my Fiancé had his camera and was taking short videos from the inside and outside part of the bakery. As he moved his camera, Jacqui who is one of the owners was sitting outside and smoking a cigarette. She spoke with immense rudeness and asked him not to take a photo of her as she is smoking her cigarette and does not want a photo. Firstly he wasn't even taking a photo of her.... He was videoing the surrounding area. I was rather dissatisfied with my visit to this place. People in general who work there are just rude, the food is unhygienic and the display looks shabby aswell. Definitely a NO from me. Every other place in Cape Town exceeded my expectations but Charly's Bakery was a great big DISAPPOINTMENT. We ended up buying a cake from Tessa's Bakery in Milnerton which had 4 different layers of deliciousness. After a long day I finally had my birthday cake.
