Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital won't help my son

Hi there, my name is Judith. I hope you are well, May I please ask for 2 minutes of your time. I have a 5 year old son and he has Sleep Apnea (in short he struggles to breath at night and unfortunately stops breathing for some time). He has been going for treatment at Charlotte Maxeke for the last 3 and half years.. With the wait for him to turn 5 years before they can operate on him. Because he stops breathing for over 10 seconds more than 10X every night he will need to go into icu right after the opp. Our issue is that they've been booking him to undergo the opp since May 2019 and with every date we get... They end up canceling on the days that he's supposed to go under. (worse part they always cancell 6-10 hours later on that day) so far they have cancelled 3 times and now they saying they won't have an icu bed available for him till February 2020. I am scared that the date is way to far considering that his condition has worsend or even worse they will cancell again. I have started an online petition to try to get over 1000 signatures and perhaps get the hospitals attention so that they can priotize my son's case. He needs to go for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy surgery. I tried pleading with the hospital to get a transfer to another public hospital but unfortunately the only other hospital is Nelson Mandela children's hospital.. And they say they checked if they have space.. And nothing. May I please ask that you click on the below link, sign up and share with everyone you know.
