17 hour waiting in casualties, sitting in a chair, no beds available,before seeing dr

Went to casualties as I was suffering from severe depression at 18h30. After 2 hours Psyciatrist saw me, did thorough interview, it was decided to keep me overnight. 10h00 they did blood tests. I did not get admitted but had to sit in casualties (on a chair) for 14 hours because the blood test had not come back yet. By 10h30 the next morning I was so tired and asked for a clean bedsheet so I could lie down. I was told the beds in the consulting rooms are for dr and I can’t use it, and that they don’t have clean bedsheets. One patient was moved and I asked if I could lie there, I was ignored by the nurses. There were paper sheets that was pointed out to me by another patient that I ended up using to cover the bed to lie down. I managed to sleep for 2 hours. Another psychiatrist came and talked to me at 13h00. I was referred to go to the clinic in a weeks time because although I needed to be admitted, they just didn’t have beds and I would have to stay in casualties for 2weeks before a bed would open. It was very traumatic as one becomes a “sitting duck” with nobody able to give you answers. A doctor blatantly told me I could wait for 14 hours to get blood results MD that I just have to wait. It was very distressing and I pray things get better in our public hospitals. God help us.
