Do not buy a property from CHARVETTES PROPERTIES

<p> </p> <p>Myself and my partner recently purchased a Flat in Goodwood from Charvettes Properties and the ad stated a parking bay was included and the agreement of sale also stated exclusive use of this parking bay.</p> <p><br />When we received the keys one of the keys was bent and broke in the lock, we called a locksmith who advised upon inspection that non of the keys we had would have opened the front door. Charvette advised she went into the property but she **** because if she did she would have know the wrong key for the front door was not on the bunch of keys handed over buy the seller. We met the caretaker the next day who advised there is no parking allocated to our flat! We called the agent and she said the seller told her there is parking bay. We also found out that the levies were in arrears which I've been told had to be settled before registration.</p> <p><br />The agent contacted the attorney dealing with the transfer (****s Van Heerden) and they resolved the parking bay issue but then we were told by the caretaker that we need to pay a monthly fee so the agent mislead us and breached the agreement of sale. As per the agreement the parking pay is included in the purchase price and nowhere was it stated or advised we had to rent a parking bay.</p> <p><br />The agent has not apologized nor offered a solution, we have only been advised by the attorneys to seek legal advice and offer a quantity of damage which the attorney advised she can confirm the seller would not be able to meet. I feel the agent should be responsible for the costs.</p> <p><br />We are first time buyers and this has been nothing but a nightmare.</p> <p><br />We would like this to not happen to anyone else and would urge anyone buying a Flat that states a parking bay is included to double check with the transfer attorneys or deeds office that you in actual fact have a parking bay.</p> <p><br />We would also advice to not purchase a property from Charvettes Properties as all she cared about was the sellers interests and getting her paycheck</p>
