Skirting money monger

I needed a wax to defluff and called Chantilly Salon to book a wax. The wax seemed ok until a family member noticed severe burning on my calf. I iced and treated the burn with Prep and, of course, took photo's of the burn.

I thought it important to contact the Salon as soon as possible to notify them of the mishap and show them pictures. The soonest I could contact them was three days after the day of my wax.

I spoke to the owner who said I cannot send a photo because it does not properly illustrate the burn, she said I should come in and show her and that she was sorry.

I arrived 20 minutes later and spoke to the owner I had just telephoned. I showed her the photographs of the burn and, the now healing, burn wound. She told me I was fair skinned and might be sensitive to the wax, which I refuted as I have been waxing for 8 years and not had this happen. Further, the burn was localised and not on any other area I had had waxed that day. She stated that the burn was not as bad as the photograph, which was taken on the evening of the day of my waxing appointment.

I asked if there was anything they could do for me, like credit me for the leg wax to make good on a bad experience and the owner sneared and said she cannot take the burn away and could not believe someone could have so much cheek to come and ask for something for free.

I spoke to the lady who waxed me and she tried to tell me it was medication (which currently I am not on). I explained what I thought had happened to her (so that she is careful not to do it again). I suspected that she had put post wax on, attempted to rub it off, and then waxed over that area again causing the burn. The beauty the****** tried to make right what she could in her capacity.

I am very disappointed by the owner's management of this issue and her obnoxious approach to my disappointment. I believe customer satisfaction and provision of good services and expertise is vital to this kind of business. Instead I was treated with faux care, faux friendliness and faux concern.

Goodwill seems secondary to the next paying customer.
