No Refund policy on factory fault

Purchased a pair of shoes which broke 2 hours later. Salesperson admitted it was a manufacturer fault but said the shop has no refund policy. Invited me to purchase another pair of shoes and pay in the difference. This means that she would have lost on the 2nd pair of shoes except for the difference I had to pay in. I did not do this. I cannot understand not getting a refund on a factory fault but saleslady is prepared to lose money on another pair of shoes which cost more, the only money to be made out of 2nd pair would have been the difference to pay in, about R40.00<br> Chanson, Aurora Shopping Centre, Teller, Mary-Ann, Tel: ***
