Putting a strain on our relationship

I have gotten used to trusting Chamberlains for their quality of products and good service. On Sunday at Chamberlains Silver Lakes I bought a sink strainer, the kind that is meant to catch waste before it goes down the sink plug hole. There was only a plastic type and it cost R29.90. It is not possible to exaggerate the sheer poorness of quality and design of this product. If it sold for R1.00 it would still not be worth the price. If it was given out free it would not be worth it. It was poorly made (it does not drain). It is poorly designed, floating up and out when there is water in the sink. The plug that is meant to fit in the strainer just falls off. I'm surprised that Chamberlains would sell such a product. It will cost me more in petrol to take it back than the product is worth itself. Which might be why it is still sold and not removed from the shelves. It is of no use to man or beast.

I contacted Chamberlain's directly and they got back to me within half a day. Their response was polite and helpful, and what they have suggested as a solution is a good one.
