WORST SERVICE.
The worst service I ever received was from Action Ford Roodepoort. I brought my car into the dealership on the 30th of December 2020, I advised them that the car had stopped while I was driving and did not give me any signal that there was an issue. Since I had serviced my vehicle with the same dealership on the 24th of June 2020, which means that I had serviced my car 6 months prior to the car having an issue. After leaving my car at the dealership I on the Wednesday, I was advised that the earliest they could check the car was Monday the 4th of January 2021. I then did not contact the dealership on that to give them time to get back to me regarding the diagnosis on the car.
I then took it upon myself to contact them as I had not heard from them regarding the issue with my vehicle. On the 8th of January I called the dealership to find out how far they are with the diagnosis. A gentleman by the name of Rihan advised that they had not done the diagnosis and will get back to me once this was done. I was contacted on the 12th of January by the same gentleman advising that some thing to do with the water gasket and the fact that the battery was low was the possible reason for the malfunction of the car. I then asked him why the car had not given me a signal that these two things were the issue while the car was moving and then decided to stop.
This is the same car that was not being used daily due to the national lockdown. I have been working from home since March of 2020 and have been using my vehicle to run errands every other day, which did not cover high mileage. I was informed that I would get feedback by the end of the week of the 12th however I did not get the feedback. I decided to contact the dealership on the 18th January to find out how far they are with the diagnosis, I was told they would call be back to give me feedback. Later that day Riaan called me back to inform me that the issue was with my engine and they would need more time to have a look at it, I asked why it would take them 3 weeks of me calling them weekly for updates and still no solid answer to back up the diagnosis about the engine. At no point during any of the service periods was I told about any issue with the engine. I asked if they picked up any issue with the engine when I brought in the car in June and they did not pick up any issue. I am very disappointed that it took 3 weeks for me to basically get nowhere with a diagnosis and in that 3 weeks I had to still make the effort to contact the dealership for any feedback. If I was not calling to see how far they would not call me.
On the 19th of January I came in to collect my car with a towing company because I had not received a confirmed diagnosis of the issue. I asked for a formal write up/ report of the diagnosis and was told it would be emailed to me once it was done. The towing company came to take the car and the gentleman took pictures of the vehicle in the condition that he found it in and was unhappy that there were parts that were taken apart and not put back into place by the dealership. The battery was not put back, certain *****s were taken out and not put back as well as the gears of the vehicle. I will be taking this matter further as my vehicle was not returned in the condition it was found in.
