Williams Hunt Centurion

I need to share my experience with William Hunt Centurion to make people aware. I took my mom's Corsa Lite which is in an excellent condition with a gear problem. Just wont go in all gears all of a sudden. Anyway took it on Friday 26 August 2022. The service agent phoned me later in morning informing me that the damage is over R19 000 and the part to be replaced alone costs R16 000. At first thought I need to fix the car and accepted the quote guees more out of shock. Then on second thought decided to visit them myself and asked to speak to the technician myself and to see the broken part with my own eyes. I could immediately see just a bolt is missing where the cables from gear lever and gearbox joins. I told the technician "this can be fixed" by just a bolt. He admitted that to me. I've also asked him "why do you want to replace an expensive part if it only need a missing bolt?" His answer was "I dont know." Long story short I told them to cancal the part and they charged me for 1 hour labour which was R1 085. I guess they thought it was an old womans car and easy to rip her off!!!
