VW Strijdom Park ******* for light bulb.

I needed to replace the right parking light in my 2007 model Golf 5 and I went to VW Strijdom Park to ask for a Technician to replace the bulb as I have done in the past. I would purchase the replacement bulb from the Spares Department and the Techie would fit the bulb while I waited, in the car park. However, this time, I was told that I had to fill out a job card and had to bring the car into the workshop for an inspection, before anyone would replace the bulb. I enquired from the Service Adviser what this would cost me and she explained that it would require labour and parts, for "this specialised piece of equipment" and quoted me R480.00 for the bulb alone, before any labour was factored into the equation. I asked why all this was necessary merely to replace a parking light bulb and she explained that the new manager had required such steps. I politely refused the quote and went instead to VW Constantia Kloof, who very kindly allowed me to purchase a replacement bulb from their spares department (for R68.00!!!) and then had one of their Technicians fit it without charging for labour. The new manager at VW Strijdom Park has cost his business a customer and I will now do business with VW Constantia Kloof in future!
