Used car purchase that i cannot rely on
I bought a used car from Weis Volkswagen Durban (a 2011 Hyundai i30) for R125 000.00. Delivery 01/9/15 (after licencing & COR was done)-mileage 125111,Within the one month period for faults, I experienced squeaky breaks-it was replaced. After the one month period (14 Oct 15)-the vehicle refused to start(mileage ***). My road side assistance had the vehicle towed to a service provider Weiss Volkswagen Durban normally uses for an assessment-the car had a power drainage problem-a power cable that short circuited caused the power drainage (the dashboard lights go dim after vehicle is started via a boost-as the battery experienced two dead cell). The cost to replace the cable was R450.00 and a new battery costs R850.00.I tried to claim via my Unitrans Autocare Warranty-they indicated to me that it was relatively new for me to experience such a problem and asked for a PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) from the provider. Mr Anand Naicker was unable to provide one as they only did COR.Mr Anand Naicker conveniently wanted to pay to replace the cable (R450) & declined the new battery. What recourse do I have as they claim to sell you a sound vehicle and i have experienced problems thus far?
