Terrifying experience with the most pleasant staff you will ever encounter

This review is based on my personal experience and may not reflect the general experience of all Nissan customers.

I recently encountered a significant issue with my Nissan Juke, which unfortunately led to a deeply disappointing experience with Nissan South Africa.

My vehicle broke down due to overheating while traveling in Limpopo. After it was towed back to Gauteng, I contacted Nissan IC in Benoni to have it checked. Despite my urgent request for assistance, the process was slow and frustrating.

Upon receiving the initial diagnosis, I was shocked to learn that Nissan recommended replacing the entire engine at a staggering cost of R112,831.16. Their estimate included a variety of parts and labor costs, which seemed excessive and unnecessary.

Feeling uneasy about the diagnosis and estimate, I decided to seek a second opinion from an independent RMI-approved garage. The new garage conducted their own diagnostics and discovered a faulty ECT. The solution was a much simpler and more cost-effective repair, involving the replacement of the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and engine coolant temperature switch.

The total cost of the repairs at the independent garage was a mere R11,157.30 - a stark contrast to the exorbitant estimate provided by Nissan.

This experience has left me deeply disappointed with Nissan South Africa. The discrepancy between the two diagnoses and estimates raises serious questions about the competence and integrity of Nissan's service department. It seems as though Nissan was more interested in maximizing profit than providing honest and efficient service.

I urge potential Nissan customers to be cautious and to seek multiple opinions before agreeing to major repairs. It is clear that Nissan cannot be trusted to provide reliable and affordable service.
