Shocking customer service

Reeds will never get any business from me after I trade in my current vehicle. These last 6 months with them has been a living nightmare, which is a real pity, because before this I really had no complaints. Since closing their Fores**** branch, customer service has taken a serious nosedive.

I bought a vehicle and took delivery on 22 Feb. 18 with the previous owner's (who had misplaced the keys) roof racks still on. It became my problem to get the key to remove them – even though it was a fairly easy process. They clearly did not feel it was important to do this for me.

I took my car to the Claremont branch in April for a service, and I only realised later my service booklet was never stamped.

I phoned for a booking to have my brakes replaced; I asked to be booked in at the Bellville branch. If I did not phone two days prior to check up, it would have been a disaster since I was booked in at Claremont.

After having my brakes done at Bellville, I got a courtesy call on 21 August about my vehicle, where I noted there is a squeak. I was promised a follow-up call. As of this writing (11 Sep. 18) I am still waiting for that call.

It also became my problem to do the roadworthy and licensing – my agent, Victor van Rooyen, promised me high and low he would get my license plates to me. That never happened. I phoned, only to hear that Victor no longer works for Reeds. I spoke to the manager, Dieter September, on 3 September. He took my name and number with a promise to call me back. As of this writing (11 Sep. 18) I am still waiting for that call.
