Regret buying a vehicle from Williams Hunt Opel Fourways
Did an online application on the 22.07.2019, according to the saleslady the vehicle had been AA Dekra checked. I requested extra pictures of the vehicle and was told the vehicle was not in by saleslady Candice and that it was at auto Val. On the 25.07.2019 I received a call that the application was successful but needed to pay a deposit of R20.800 as there were someone else in line for the vehicle, payment was done immediately and proof of payment was sent to them. According to the saleswoman Candice I did confirm with her when will i be able to take delivery of my vehicle after paying the deposit, she then confirmed immediately after payment as cleared. I did ask her If I could fetch my vehicle on the Saturday 27.07.2019 and she said no because the vehicle will be going in for a service at Jeep , and should be ready by Monday, I did proceed to take 3 days off from work as the vehicle is in Johannesburg and I am in KZN. I then called her on Monday and asked her if I could leave to pick up my vehicle, her response was that they picked up a small problem that the tyre pressure light was on. After service had been done. She told me that she would call me back when they had rectified the problem. I did speak to sales manager Johnathan who had advised me that they are busy trying to sort out the problem, kept me on the loop for the next two weeks with no correspondence. Received a call on Monday 05.08.2019 that the vehicle was in good condition and ready for delivery but the tyre pressure and esp light was on due to the big tyres fitted on the vehicle. It was not a concern as they assured me that the vehicle was in excellent condition and roadworthy. I had made arrangement to take delivery on Thursday 08.08.2019 at 12h00 ,I departed KZN at 04h00am and arrived at 11h30 at Williams Hunt Fourways . Upon arrival saleslady Candice did not have knowledge that I would be taking delivery on 08.08.2019 but the manager did confirmed that he was aware that delivery was set for that date . I then found the vehicle was not cleaned (no auto Val done) and then found engine light was on, they started washing and cleaning the outside of the vehicle whilst we were waiting. I did request to speak to the manager, but he never came back to me. I was advised by one of the staff who showed concern to my problems and issues with the vehicle that I should meet with the dealer principal as he is a people’s person and cares about his customers. I was at the dealership talking to the dealer principal over the telephone who showed no concern what so ever to the problems I was explaining to him. We then sat at the dealership waiting, left dealership at 16h30. Upon delivery the car had no fuel had a range of 51km, I then proceeded to the garage and found out that the oil was also short on the vehicle ,I did contact them and they explained to me that I should let it settle and check if after a while . The next morning the oil was 1 litre short. I drove the vehicle around abit to get the feel of the vehicle before I depart to Kzn and then found out the alignment was off, parked if off Friday and departed Saturday morning 10.08.2019 to Kzn . After the first 200km the vehicle started to go on limp mode, I then pulled the vehicle over and switched off. It did that 5 times during the journey. We felt a heavy vibration when applying brakes on the vehicle. The hand brakes also doesn’t work. I was frustrated and just wanted to get home as I had my children with me, reached Kzn at 17h30. Woke up this morning with regret, there’s oil leaks in my parking space from the gearbox and engine. I will be taking the vehicle to Kzn Roadworthy Test centre ,as I need to justify how a reputable dealership like William Hunt Fourways sells vehicles that are not roadworthy and how does Wesbank approve a vehicle that’s going to cost me R425,000 that is totally not roadworthy . Is there no humanity even in dealerships?
