Reeds N1 city, the endless issues and Racial profiling.

My name is Prince Ibe, it started with the racial profiling of Reeds N1 City. I went with my two sons sometime in October 2019 to Reeds N1 City to purchase a car for them, it took a while for a salesperson to give us attention. The attention we were given was that of a person who was going window shopping. It was on our way home that my boys called my attention to the fact that attention was given to two white people that had arrived after us. I decided to pay more attention to our return the next day only to realize that what the boys said was true.

Subsequent incidents 1. took delivery of the car on the 5th of December 2019 2. Returned the car a few days later for noise in the engine, the car was taken in and was told it is nothing to worry about. 3. Returned the car again a week later, because the gear is not selecting properly, was told once again there is no issue. 4. The door panels were pulling open. 5. The rear window winders were falling off. 6 Two yellow lights displaying on the dashboard. 7. daylight lamps not coming on and were indicated on the dashboard. After all these observations, which I relayed to them, I was told to keep the car hence they were breaking up for the Christmas holiday and bringing the car back in late January. I took the car back in March because I was out of the country. They took the car in for about a week, returned the car, and said there is nothing to worry about hence all the problems are still there, only the yellow lights were taken away from the dashboard. A few months down the line I had a water pipe burst in the engine which took a big fight before they agreed to fix it but made me pay part of the bill. 1 year later the clutch kit gave in, I spent about R15 000 to fix it. Now the engine is spilling oil over my driveway and the car can barely climb the smallest of hills now.

When I called them, the manager first told me that after 2 years they can't help me, finding out it was not 2 years yet, they told me the engine is only guaranteed for 6 months. when I asked him about all the reports I brought to a few days after I took the car, he said he was not the manager then and said I can do whatever I wish.

Did i mention the fact that I was given the wrong key when I took the car and they had to call me to return the key, given the wrong service book, I had to drive back to go and change it, and I had to practically beg for them to give me a gift basket that comes with the car after a purchase.
