********* Practices and Clueless on French cars

Williams Hunt Midrand dealership engages in ********* practices, staff is dishonest and is clueless about French cars they claim to possess technical skills on. I took my son's Citroen DS3 car in for a yearly service last month as I have always done. It also had some funny jerking tendency at time. So, I thought it is time for the service and that maybe spark plugs also need changing. When I got there the service advisor lady, advised me that there was a recall on these cars for the front airbag/s that needed to be changed. I was offered a loan car while they worked on replacing the airbag. A few days later I was called and informed that the car is ready and that I should come and collect. After collecting the car and when I had just driven out of the dealership the car cut off. I stopped and restarted it and took it back. When I got to the lady and explained to her what was happening, she told me sorry I forgot to tell you, there is a whole list of diagnostics that was done and whole lot of messages that basically said, there is something wrong with the engine.

Okie, now I have just paid R5000 and you didn't you tell me about all of this, why? Sorry I forgot. To cut a long story short she takes me to the service manager who then tells me they will need to strip the engine to check what is wrong with the car, as there is no compression on cylinder 2. That all other cylinders are also showing low compression. So, I gave them a go-ahead.

After a few days I call to ask if they have stripped the engine, and I do not get a straight answer. I call again two days later and ask the same question, and the lady says she will check. She then says they have started. I then ask her are they able stop as I am wanting to get a second opinion. She says yes. So, I go and collect the car and by now it has got worse than before. Basically, it is undrivable. I take the car to Steve's Auto Clinic in Kyalami. After an hour or so they call to say it is the thermostat that is a problem. I ask them what about the engine, they say nothing wrong with the engine.

I give them a go-ahead to change the thermostat, and they do. Two days later car is fixed and driving normally and there is nothing wrong with the engine.

Don't take your Peugeot or Citroen there. They have no technical skills on them. They took my money and tried to con me further as I have explained before.

I have called a given the dealer principal plenty time to talk to me about this. He has not bothered to return my many calls and messages that I have left for him.
