Pathetic Service from Reeds Cape Town

I bought a Chev utility 1400 base from Reeds Cape Town in 2014, when I took it for the 15 000 km service, I complained that the release bearing is making a noise and want the Technician (Mechanic) to have a look at it, the mechanic then informed me that because the vehicle is still new the gearbox needs to be “run in”, I then ask the service consultant to document this complaint seeing that the vehicle was still under guarantee at the time.

Now the vehicle is on 68 000 km and the release bearing packed up. I then took the vehicle back to Reeds Cape Town on Thursday (19th October) to confirm my suspicions and I was quoted R8 300 to have the Clutch and Release Bearing replaced. Being that the clutch and release bearing is not covered by the warranty….

I find this level of service unacceptable and the quote outrageous, seeing that I complained/informed the service team about this very issue at 15 000 km.

I have mail their Service Manager and have received no feedback as yet.

I am very disappointed in the service and will never buy anything from Reeds again.
