Not interested in doing business

I would like to complain about the absolutely ********** end to my story of trying to buy a silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T from the Williams Hunt dealership in Midrand.

Our Fortuner got ****** on the 1st of November 2019 and shortly thereafter my Wife and I set out to find a new vehicle. Eventually a search on http://www.cars.co.za gave us (among plenty other vehicle makes and models) a hit for this silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of 36953km that was available from Williams Hunt. Since we had already driven a different MU-X from a different dealer, this one really appealed since its price on the 20th of November 2019 was just right, advertised as R449,995 on the http://www.cars.co.za website.

So I immediately contacted the dealer on the http://www.cars.co.za website and got an email confirmation on 20 November 2019 at around 22:30 that the message has been sent. The next day Sherren from Williams Hunt phoned me and said the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995 was still available and being driven by their dealer principal, so he would have to just arrange for it to be available for us to test-drive. We could not go through to Midrand on Thursday 21st November 2019, but arranged with Sherren to have it ready for when we will be in Midrand on Friday 22nd November 2019.

So on Friday 22nd of November 2019 at about 13:30 we arrived at the Williams Hunt dealership and unfortunately Sherren had to go out with another client. So Machellé took care of us and had Sello take us for a drive in what we believed to be the washed and ready silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995. We drove it, enjoyed it, decided we wanted it and then spoke to Nanette Bezuidenhout (F&I Manager) to start the finance application process and while there I managed to send her all the additional documents like bank statements, proof of income, proof of address etc. to speed the process along. She then sent me the finance application form which I completed and sent back on Sunday 24 November 2019.

On Monday 25 November 2019 all hell broke loose when I sent Nanette an email inquiring whether R450,000 (I rounded off the R449,995) would be their best price, and to gather more details regarding the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995. I there also specifically enquired about the price, saying that I will try and get Sherren to negotiate a better price. And the next thing I know, Sherren phones and says that a terrible mistake has been made and that that silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995 that I initially inquired about (which he then after initial inquiry on the http://www.cars.co.za website confirmed was available at that price etc.) has already been sold, but that it was in fact not a 4x4 but a 2x4 and that the silver MU-X we actually drove on Friday 22nd November was actually a 4x4 but for R529,995!!!

So now I was already irritated at the mistake since Sherren confirmed before the test-drive that the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995 was available as well as a 4x4 as well as for the price of R449,995 and that we were led to believe that the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T we test-drove on the 22nd November was actually the one I inquired about on http://www.cars.co.za.

Best part is that on Tuesday morning (today, 26th November) after trying to get a solution from Williams Hunt, Sherren finally sent me a Whatsapp that his manager agreed to them providing me with a 4x4 MU-X, supposedly the one we test-drove on Friday 22nd November, for R415,000. So hey presto, we're back in business and I can relax. Only to be let down once again when Sherren again phoned me with the news that once again they f-d up and the price is actually R515,000 and not R415,000. That is when I phoned Machellé to try and sort out this mess.

Needless to say, I had to phone them at least four times today (Tuesday 26th November) to get feedback, so I think they were clearly scrambling or ducking and diving to avoid the situation, them not phoning me once after the last doo hit the fan! That's bad and unprofessional conduct guys, great work! You should be proud!

And then the excuses started rolling in: First off, Sherren that was very new at the dealership (only a week or so) and also later that Machellé said she was also quite new (actually fleet manager now sales manager, or acting sales manager). And that the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of about 36953km for R449,995 I inquired about on http://www.cars.co.za has already been sold, it being a 2x4 for R449,995 and that there is now absolutely no way that they can give me a 4x4 for R450,000 and that the best they can do was R515,200.

No-one took responsibility for the foobar they caused, and no-one even tried solving the issue. Offering me a shoulder-shrug and a 4x4 for R515,200 is a big STUFF YOU to me trying to do business with them.

Am I disgruntled? YES. Would I like an apology? NO. I want an Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T for R449,995. And I will let future Isuzu owners know that Williams Hunt Midrand is not the place to spend any of your money.

Best of all: I have a photo I took on Monday 25 November of the http://www.cars.co.za website where the silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 A/T with mileage of 36953km for R449,995 is advertised and I have it marked on the site as one of my favorites on the site's wishlist (when we were cur-hunting) so the web address still takes me there. This is the exact same one they said 1) is no longer available and 2) is not a 4x4. I also have a photo taken today 26 November where they then managed to change THE EXACT SAME ADD ON http://www.cars.co.za to now all of a sudden indicate that exact same MU-X as being 4x4, but now with 42000km and for R515,200. Remember, I said I marked it as one of my favorites on the wishlist on the website while we were hunting, and when following that same favorite, I now get different results.

So WHAT THE FOODLE guys??? Are you purposefully trying to stuff me around???
