NEGLIGENCE THAT LED TO DAMAGE

I took my vehicle to Williams Hunt The Glen on 4 June 2020. The vehicle was with them for more than 3 weeks. They said the cylinder head was damaged and they took the whole engine out and took the cylinder head to Engineering. They called me on 2 July 2020 to collect the vehicle. They charged me R28 631.96. In September 2020 I went to the gas station to fill up fuel, I asked the Petrol Attendant to check oil and water. He opened the Bonnet and came to show me that the dipstick was broken and that it had been joined with Super Glue. I went back to Williams Hunt and showed them what their technician did. They opened a job card (which they didn’t show to me) and ordered a new dipstick. They didn’t charge me for the new dipstick. I noticed there was a yellow Engine light and some oil leaks. I took the vehicle in on Monday 12 October 2020 and asked them to check what they did wrong when they did the cylinder head. They called me back a few hours later and said the problem has got nothing to do with the work that they did. They said the oil cooler was leaking oil and the Camshaft seal was broken. They also said the radiator bottle had some oil in it. They gave me a quote for R32000, which I declined. They then said I need to pay R1100 for the Diagnosis, I told them I cannot pay it because they didn’t say anything about the diagnosis charges when I brought the vehicle. I went to fetch the vehicle in the afternoon, and they showed me an invoice of R879.75 that they charged from my fleet account. I then googled to investigate what a damaged dipstick can cause, only to discover that it can damage the PVC system. William Hunt want to charge me R32000 for the damage that they caused. They went to charge me R879.96 to diagnose the damage that they caused.
