Mcduling Motors Volkswagen is such a disappointment and inconvenience

On the 16th of September, I came across an advert on one of South Africa’s prominent car sales website for a used 2017 Volkswagen Polo GTI 1.8. Like any other young aspirant, hardworking individual, I really felt it was time to reward myself with the car of my dreams. With a lot of excitement, I then made contact with one of the salespeople at the Mcduling Motors Volkswagen (Booysens) – where the car was being sold, to inquire about the vehicle mentioned above. To my luck, I was told the car was still available so I proceeded to take the necessary steps to apply for a vehicle finance. I went back and forth via email and voice call with the F&I Manager for a quote. Finance was later approved and I confirmed that we could proceed to the next of the process. At this stage, I agreed to pay a deposit that I had committed to. I then proceeded to make payment into the McDuling Motors Volkswagen bank account on the 17th of September and the F&I Manager acknowledged the proof of payment on the 18th of September. Later that day I discovered that I would no longer be able to proceed with the application as I had learned that I would no longer afford the vehicle due to a possible retrenchment. I sent an email early in the morning, the following day (19th September) to discuss with The F&I Manager my very upsetting realization. She understood and mentioned that the process to refund my deposit will be kicked off soonest (same day). I expected my hard-earned money to be paid back by the 20th as the cancellation process was initiated on the 19th of September. On the 20th September, the monies did not reflect in my account. The following day the monies STILL did not reflect in my account. I called the F&I Manager to inquire about the reversal of the funds and she said the processing has been done as far as she knows but could not confirm if the monies were paid back into my account. On the 23rd of September, I sent an email to ask for proof of payment and the F&I Manager did not respond. I’m still waiting for the monies to be paid back into my account as this process is taking far too long with NO ACTUAL COMMITED DATE of when they will be paid into my account. It’s really frustrating to wait for something that is yours and that you have the right to have. Mcduling Motors Volkswagen has really disappointed me and probably even put me off buying a Volkswagen in the future. I hope they will respond and hopefully do the right thing.
