Isuzu Delivers (Not Really)

<p>A word of caution to those looking at Isuzu Bakkies (either DC or for deliveries) don’t be fooled by the promise of a lengthy service plan or warranty.</p> <p>I own a Double Cab 4x4, it cost me a lot of money and I treasure that vehicle, however after 60 000km the brakes both front and back need urgent repairs. This is not covered and one can expect to pay around R5 000 to effect the repairs just to be safe on the road. On asking the service manager he is adamant that 60 000km is not bad for the braking system, he has seen cases where 35 000km is the limit! Aside from this 15 000km ago the very same dealer serviced the vehicle and one assumes noted the brakes were in good order or I guess they would have said something then. </p> <p>The best part..The disks are skimmed not replaced so one has the knowledge that in the not too distant future this will be repeated but at a higher cost.</p> <p>As for the reasons why – they are clearly spelled out that you the owner are either driving at excessively high speeds or overloading the vehicle (a nice accusation made to a client after giving him the bill) I just wonder about the delivery vehicles we see everywhere, how safe are they really??</p> <p>Finally if you think you’re going to get feedback from the dealer principal or even the head office please change that perception, mails sent to customer care do not even warrant a return call.</p> <p>Disappointed would be an understatement.</p>
