Incompetence at it's best

I strongly advise everyone to avoid William Hunt Fourways.

I brought my vehicle in on the 23rd of July due to an overheating issue and for a routine service. However, the Service Manager only submitted the claim for repairs on the 12th of August. While my warranty covered part of the cost, I was informed that the shortfall, including the annual service, would be R7,471.76. Weeks passed with little progress or communication, and I was later told that the cost for the repairs alone had skyrocketed to R18,561.81, as both the water pump and thermostat needed replacement. Despite my daily follow-ups, nothing was moving, and communication was disorganised at best.

I also spoke with the Dealer Principal, who, rather than offering a solution, defended his staff. He was even harder to reach for support and was equally unhelpful throughout the process. Frustrated, I arranged for another approved dealer to tow my car for the repairs. On Friday, 6th September, I informed William Hunt Fourways that I would pay the shortfall for the parts to release the car. At that point, the Service Manager admitted he had misquoted me, and the cost to release the vehicle was now R7,471.76, excluding the annual service. The tow truck driver had to return three times because they hadn’t sent me the invoice needed to release the vehicle.

In the end, the issue was resolved, and I had my car fixed elsewhere for a fraction of the cost within 1.5 days. My nearly 7-week-long ordeal with William Hunt Fourways was nothing short of horrific, and I cannot recommend staying away from them strongly enough.
