If you are a Black Female, Don't Buy a Car at Wiess VW (CFAO Motors) Durban!!

It was today when I learned that Wiess VW in Durban supports the genocide currently happening in South Africa against Women. It is no secret that SA holds the highest number of crimes against Women. As a black previously disadvantaged woman who has worked Over 15 years of my life just to be able to afford this POLO TS Life- DSG1.1 2022 model sold to me by Wiess VW.

On the 24th of June 2023, this wonderful car, broke its control arm of the front left wheel Tyre) while in motion, While the car was movie on the N3, did not hit or go over anything. It simply broke causing damage on the inside of the wheel; therefore, this car was no longer drivable.

We contacted VW roadside assist, let us just say, they were not able to assist. My insurance, then towed the car back to Durban, to VW Barons(Only dealership, who could accept the car on a Sunday as they have 24/7 guard) But the service again the service was horrific. I then contacted My insurance to move the car to the dealer that sold me the car Wiess VW. At this point, I was made aware that investigations of who was at fault, between the driver and the manufacturer were going to take anything between 6weeks to 8weeks. (No mention on when they can start working on the car). We must first determine who was at fault). As a female and a mother, I did not oppose to this, I needed them to find out what the problem was and to ensure that my family and I have been placed in a safe to use vehicle. However, I had one request and one request only, during this period, I need to get to work, and my son need to get to school when school starts therefore, I require a car, this conversation started from the 28th June 2023 with services manager at Wiess VW, Since then I have been their dealership twice following up on the Loan car and I was told that I am on the waiting list. On the 19th of July 2023 VWSA(Manufacturer) called to tell me that they have gathered whatever it is they need from the car and will come back with a report in 6 weeks, this means I should expect a call/email on the 30th of August 2023. When problems arise, they start educating about how dealership is different to the manufacturer, how convenient!! This is not discussed when the car was sold. The Lady at VWSA has been very active at calling and checking up and confirmed that all the information required at the time was received. However, she is not able to assist when it comes to the dealership.

I have been calling the dealer (Wiess VW) daily to follow up on a loan car, service manager never returns my calls. She tells her staff members to call me after and tell she is still waiting for a car to comeback. If that was not enough, the dealership manager told me, He will not release a car as according to him (what he sees and 30 years’ experience, this was an accident). He did however refuse to put this on paper, but a recording of our conversation is available. He said, “it doesn’t make sense, that metal could break like that.” So He will not help me, I must figure it out. So not only are they not going to help, but they have also been lying to me. They were never going to give me the car. They have been lying to me for 5weeks. I understand that to Shaun at Wiess VW, I am just another black Woman that help his dealership make target last year March. And He is not willing to lift a finger to assist me or provide me with a loan car, while we wait for the report from VWSA.

To me my car was my safety measure from getting ****** while walking to the bus stop, from being kidnapped and trafficked, from gang ****d and possibly killed, the only protection I can provide my son to ensure that he arrives safely to school. And Shaun who has possibly never been aa woman let alone a black woman is South Africa clearly does not care if one more goes missing or is ******ed, since it does not make sense to him what happened to the front wheel Tyre. What is my safety to him, when he has already made his money, Guess that is how it works right. I have through to Full instalments with my car and at this rate possible going to the 3rd one. I am more than willing to wait for VWSA to do whatever is necessary as part of their investigation, However, I bought a car because it was a need, I need a loan car while I wait, that is all I ask for. I have not had my car Since this happened, I am out of money, out of options. I am simply asking VW for a Loan Car while I wait!!!
