Hunting for a new car? Look ANYWHERE other than WILLIAMS HUNT!!
I love to share positive experiences - unfortunately, this is not one.
Williams Hunt Fourways - you know the one next to Cedar Square? I know what I want and an online search took me to Williams Hunt Fourways as one of the dealerships. So I e-mailed them from their e-mail address on their website - twice over 2 days. No response. SO I found the next closest dealer for the vehicle I want and started the process there but its in Edenvale - Fourways is much more convenient so went back to the Williams Hunt website and found the facebook link and send a message that I had e-mailed and not had a response. In a few hours they came back to me, said they were having problems with their website and to please give them a chance to make it up to me so I gave them my e-mail and let them know what vehicle I wanted.
The response was classic: That they would pass my information on to the people who deal with that vehicle but it's a division of Williams Hunt with its own facebook page (and customers should intuit this when the dealership listed is "Williams Hunt - not "Division of Williams Hunt"?) - so basically the buck was passed - and its been another 24 hours and I've had no correspondence from this "right division" either.
To top it all off they marked my facebook message as "Spam" or "undesirable" - which caused me to be blocked from using certain facebook features for three days - since my practice advertises through facebook with the window to my largest audience available on Mondays only - messaging them through facebook cost me a week's income! (And yes, sending them a message WAS the only thing I did on FB that day so it was definitely their doing).
It's mind-blowing that anyone would be so BAD at new customer relations. Perhaps however they have all the business they need and simply need no new customers! Having been in sales for 20 years myself it's a classic Masters Degree in "How to turn away new business FOREVER!".
So folks if anyone out there needs a new car - go the extra distance to a dealership where there might be a chance of some enthusiasm and a welcoming attitude because for now at least, Williams Hunt Fourways is not appreciative enough of new business to make buying from them even remotely pleasant - in fact even the attempt was enormously costly to me and my business - and getting anyone to get back to you will take mammoth resolve and fortitude (and possibly a week's income). Buying a new car should be FUN - and it might be - but not with Williams Hunt.
On a positive note - someone out there is going to want your business enough to make the effort - find them! If their e-mail address on their website works - you're off to a good start!
