Flabbergasted at the level of indifference and service

My wife just bought a 2015 opel astra from Reeds N1 city. They sold us a package which includes fixing small chips.

My gripe is that when she got the car yesterday there were CLEAR chip marks! We took photos and this is the email exchange that went down:

"Hi Steven,

My husband got home this evening, and inspected the car (with his eagle eyes), and noticed a few tiny scratches/chipmarks. Attached are the photos:

Front bonnet Front right bumper Left rear passenger bottom (inside the door frame on the body panel) Left rear passenger door top Rear bumper 1 Rear bumper 2 Can these be fixed? My husband's understanding was that these would've been fixed before I would pick up the car this afternoon (and I didn't think to check if they were fixed, I was so excited :)).

Another question - with the paint protection/auto armor package (bronze), was the paint shield (protective coating/polish) app****?

The salesman rep**** in a way that's not helpful and if anything seems to shy away from what is just considered good customer service:

"Hi, Rondine.

I trust all is well on your side?

Regarding the paint protection. It was definitely done and you have proof of it in your Auto Armor booklets (in cover with service books etc.)

Just with regards to the small chips marks. There wasn’t anything discussed between us regarding any work to be done on the car. When you came through for the valuation, you looked right around the car again and didn’t mention anything about chip marks. I still proceeded to ask if you were happy and you said “Yes” correct?

However, I have spoken to my Stock Controller and Manager. To do touch-ups will actually make the chip marks stand out more, so it’s not necessarily advisable to do so.

At the end of the day it is a 4 year old car, not a brand new car. We do pride ourselves in quality and I can send it away for touch-ups, however like I previously mentioned. The possibility of it making the small chips more visible is the risk we take.

You can let me know, but it isn’t advisable in my opinion. I hope this serves you well and I am gladly willing to assist you to the best of my ability!
