Do not take your Fiat to Reeds Bellville

Do not take your Fiat to them should you have problems with your Fiat, despite the fact that they are the official Fiat dealership. My daughter had a problem with her Fiat 500, booked with Reeds to have a look at it as the car was making strange noises especially in the lower gears. This was communicated with them in writing prior to bringing the car to them. Upon collection they claimed the airvent pipe was loose and that they have fixed it. They were also asked to replace a faulty day runner light. Upon returning home, we saw that the faulty daytime running light was still not working and returned the car to the dealaership only for them to confirm, that even though they charged for replacing the bulb, they never did. Two days later, the car was making the same noises when in the lower gears and the car was teruned to the dealership, where they confirmed that they never fastened the loose pipe, which they the supposedly did. However, the noise was still there and eventually we decided to take the car to a private service station, only to be told that the gearbox had to be replaced, it was never a problem with the pipe. What is the point of booking a service and taking your car with a very specific complaint to a dealership, for them not to ensure that they actually have a look at your car? What if my daughter was stuck next to the road because of the faulty gearbox?
